NOTE: USA Triathlon Age for Age Group Competition:
USA Triathlon has instituted a new rule for determining the age group each participant will compete in.  The age used for placing you in age group competition for points and awards will be your age as of December 31st, 2010.  What does this mean for you?  If you were born before August 2nd, your age for selecting your competition age group will be your current age.  If you were born on or after August 2nd, your age, for selecting your age group for competition will be your age as of 12/31/10... your current age plus one year.

For most of you this will not make a change in your competitive age group.  If you're 32, for example, becoming 33 will not change your competition age grouping.  The folks who might be affected are those of you who are ages ending in 4 or 9.  If you were born after August 2nd, and your age ends in a 4 or 9, your age for competition will be adjusted to what it would be on 12/31... you'll gain a year.  This will put you in the next higher competitive age group.
